Be told when something changes
A watch describes what you care about — a site, a community, a firm, a scale threshold — and what kind of change should reach you. Every alert says what changed, when the source changed it, when this platform observed it, and links to the municipal record.
What a watch can express
- A specific project, application or address
- A community or ward
- An asset class — industrial, office, mixed use
- A scale threshold by materiality score
- A status transition: approved, refused, appealed, permit issued
- Any change at all to a watched file
What an alert will say
Which file changed, the field that changed, the previous and new value, the date the source recorded it, the date this platform observed it, and a link to the municipal record. Never a summary that cannot be checked.
Storing is not sending
Delivery is a separate capability from storage: a stored watch is not a delivered alert. Until an email sender is configured, watches accumulate and nothing is sent. This page will keep saying so until both exist, rather than letting you stop watching manually on the strength of an alert that never arrives.
No accounts
There is no login here, and no fake one either. A watch is keyed to an opaque identifier rather than an account, because implying user accounts exist when they do not is exactly the kind of thing this platform refuses to do elsewhere.
